Black Walnut burl dishes with beautiful grain and chatoyancy.
These Dishes were turned from one piece of black walnut burl that was “green “, meaning it was wet and undried. It was finished wet and only oiled after it dried. Because of that it has wonderful blonde streaks, a funky shape and a unique soft texture that allows you to feel the burls and inclusions
Plate diameter is 8 1/2″ with a height of 1 1/4″
Bowl diameter is 6 3/4″ with a height of 1 1/2″
finished with Danish oil
plate is flat bottomed with a soft straight rim that is rounded on the top. bowl has a gentle bevel outside with soft inner curve.
